DIY Colorblock Beaded Necklace
I love some good statement jewelry and a good crafternoon, so making this necklace was the best of both worlds for me. We recently had a small snow storm, so I spent an afternoon cozied up in my warm slippers, sipping hot cocoa, watching old episodes of Girls while crafting away. The result was this bright colorblock wood bead necklace and I’m pretty smitten with it. It shed a little light on an otherwise very gloomy and freezing day (my first snow day EVER!). Let’s make one, yes?!! -xo
What you’ll need:
Acyrlic paint ion your fave colors
string of you choice – twine, leather rope, metal chain, etc.
Wood beads (FOUND HERE)
1. Tape off beads in whatever fashion you’d like. I chose a simple half/half design.
2. Paint away and allow to dry. Acrylic paint, when painted on thinly, will dry fairly fast. I was able to place my painted beads on a sheet of paper without any smudging.
3. Once dry, remove tape carefully.
4. Slide beads on your string of choice and tie at the end. Voila!
