Jolly Rancher Vodka Chocolate Cherry Bomb

January 10, 2014

TGIF! Today, I’m excited to announce my partnership with Temptation Candy. I’ll be bringing you three candy inspired posts over the next few weeks. First up, Chocolate Cherry Bombs made with Cherry Jolly Rancher infused vodka. Chocolate covered fruit has always been one of my favorite treats so when I was asked to create a recipe using Jolly Ranchers, chocolate covered cherries was the first thing that popped into my mind. Creme de Cacao liqueur lends a deep chocolatey flavor while cherry infused vodka and Grenadine keep this cocktail light and fruity. Cheers friends, happy Friday! -xo

P.S. Temptation Candy is giving special discounts to Love+Cupcakes readers. Details at the end of the post.

Candy infused vodka couldn’t be easier to make. Simply dissolve hard candy pieces in vodka over night and voila! Note: Don’t bother using a top-shelf vodka for this infusion, a mid-range spirit will do just fine.

Jolly Rancher infused Chocolate Cherry Bombs
Makes 1 Cocktail
2 ounces Cherry Jolly Rancher infused vodka (instructions above)
2 ounces white Creme de Cacao
2 ounces Grenadine
Chocolate syrup (like Hershey’s) and chocolate sprinkles to rim the glass
Maraschino cherries for garnish
Cocktail shaker
Pour a small amount of chocolate syrup and sprinkles  into two shallow dishes. Dip the rim of your glass into the syrup then into the sprinkles. It may be helpful to “brush” the chocolate syrup on with one finger to evenly coat the rim of the glass before dipping into the sprinkles.
Fill a cocktail shaker half way with ice. Combine vodka, chocolate liqueur, and Grenadine and shake vigorously until shaker is frosty.
Pour mixture into rimmed glass and garnish with Maraschino cherries. Cheers!
