Where the Buffalo Roam
Even though Saturday marked the first day of Autumn, I wanted to share with you a few highlights from my summer adventures. We did a lot of little travels throughout the summer starting with weekend getaways here and here. Then we scampered off to a few more locals, and Wyoming was one of them! Why so random? Well, we’ve had two friends traveling throughout the U.S. by RV for the past 4 months and we wanted to come out and visit. They happen to be driving through Yellowstone, Wyoming when our schedule allowed us to travel. It was such an amazing trip. I’ve never seen a more beautiful part of the states – prairies, lakes, rivers, mountains and geysers galore. The weather was intense, sunny and hot one moment then dark and stormy the next. And then there was the bison! Wild buffalo roam everywhere…and I mean everywhere! It was simply breathtaking. Wyoming, I will definitely see you again. Until then, I have tons of photos to remind me of our wonderful trip. Here are a few highlights!
My husband, the tourist, and me in front of the great Yellowstone River… can you spot all of the hot springs?
Yep, that be hot, bubbling water. No touchy.
Throughout the national park, there are board walks to navigate through all of the gushing geysers and misty hot springs. It’s both creepy and absolutely stunning to look at. There was a frightening lightning storm happening while we were here. I, of course was certain that I’d be struck.
I love this photo beyond words. A picture of me taking a picture of our friends, Denise and Frank.
And of course, the requisite funky mountain jam dance. Can’t leave without one of those.
After this short trip, I’m much more interested in seeing new parts of the U.S. We usually want to leave the country to explore other places, but this made us realize we have a lot of exploring to do right here in our own home. Did you take any vacations this summer? I’d love to hear about them. – xoxo, P.
