From the Kitchen: Blueberry Simple Syrup

August 30, 2011

To thank our friends for having us over for dinner on Saturday, I made a batch of blueberry simple syrup and added my new favorite recipe for adult lemonade on the tag. Making simple syrup is well…simple. You’ll need 1 cup fruit+1 cup water+1 cup sugar.

Boil the ingredients until the fruit softens (about 5 minutes). Take off heat. Mush fruit down with a muddler (I used a honey stick) and strain through a sieve or cheesecloth into a mason jar. Let cool completely and refrigerate for up to a month. Enjoy!

I know that fresh is always better, but Trader Joes has frozen wild blueberries that might just do the trick as well!
