Yes, please: Homegrown Citrus

February 15, 2011

We planted a few dwarf citrus trees last year and they’ve finally started bearing fruit. Here’s one of our Meyer Lemons and Blood Oranges. The trees are only giving off about a dozen or so fruits but it’s really exciting to be able to pick a lemon or lime right off of the trees that we’ve planted, watered and helped grow over the year. I haven’t decided what exactly I’ll be making with our small harvest but I love citrusy desserts so I feel a baking sesh coming on. xoxo!

Great pics! My mom gave me some grapefruit from her tree and I juiced them; so great! Then I got some from the store and they were SO not as good.
