Engagement Postcards

February 15, 2011

My sister-in-law is getting married this summer and I had the honor of designing her and her fiance’s save-the-date postcards. Since she wanted the location of their wedding to play a big role, I offered up this vintage postcard inspired design and they loved it. xoxo!

Awesome design! What programs did you use?

      Hi Elyse,
I used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for the design. I used a scanned image of the original postcard and altered it accordingly.

These are great! I’m getting married this fall, and I’ve been wondering about Save the Dates (it’s a budget wedding). I do graphic design in many of my college classes and could make my own! But where did you have your sisters’ Save the Dates printed, if you don’t mind me asking? Was it pricey?

      Hi Sally,

Actually, I think the printing was quite inexpensive. My sister-in-law took care of the printing process through an online company called amazingmail.com. She had her postcards printed and mailed all at once for less $100! I think DIY/budget weddings are always the most special. It’s amazing how imaginative one can get when they’re strapped for cash. Good luck!
