Mountain Pillows

Working in advertising and branding, you meet a ton of people that are crazy creative. And while our jobs require us to be imaginative and inventive, creativity outside of the 9-5 seems necessary for most. Hence this blog. Sometimes a blog, an oven and a pound of sugar is all you need to feel free and fulfilled… but other times only a handmade, plush, patch-worky Mountain Pillow will do. My friend, Simone Drucker, makes these cute pillows out of scraps of fabric at her home studio in Venice, CA.
“Mountain pillows are gestural, dreamlike fabric sculptures inspired by the mountains I have ascended, hiked through, snowboarded, and watched from afar…passing by on various road trips and journeys, the least of not which would be those on the horizon throughout my homeland[s] of Northern and Southern California.”
Each is hand sewn, stuffed, and finished with a logo tag signed by Simone herself. I have the “Teton Mountains” pillow to remind me of my trip to Wyoming last summer. Check out her Etsy shop for more Mountain Pillows! And if your curious, check out her design work here. She’s pretty amazing!

These are so cute! What a creative idea.
